This policy explains how personal data is handled on insights.thebalancedmovement.eu, the essays and insights publication of The Balanced Movement. It is deliberately short, because this site collects very little.
The Balanced Movement is the umbrella for the work of Assendelft Communicatie, which is responsible for the personal data described here and is known under data protection law as the controller. Our registered details are Assendelft Communicatie, Vlietlaan 12, 1566 WG Assendelft, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 50264494. You can reach us about your data at maarten@thebalancedhouse.eu.
You can read everything on this site without giving us any personal data. There are no reader accounts, no forms and no comment fields. The site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and it does not embed content from other platforms. Fonts and images are served from our own server, so reading an essay does not send your data to third parties such as Google.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records technical information in server logs: your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the page you requested, the address of the page that referred you and the type of browser you use. We need this to deliver the pages to you, to keep the site secure and to investigate faults. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website. These logs are kept for a limited period and are then deleted automatically.
If you write to us, we use your name, email address and the content of your message to reply. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request, together with our legitimate interest in responding to you. We keep this correspondence for up to two years after our last contact, unless it becomes part of a client relationship, in which case it follows the retention rules for that relationship.
Essays link to sources and to other parts of The Balanced Movement, such as thebalancedmovement.eu, and the menu offers a way to book a conversation. When you follow such a link, you leave this site and the privacy policy of the site you visit applies.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with TransIP, based in the Netherlands, which hosts this site and our email and acts on our instructions as a processor. We may also disclose data where the law requires us to.
This site does not place cookies for its readers. The cookie policy explains the details.
Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, contact us at maarten@thebalancedhouse.eu. We will respond within the time the law allows.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, we would welcome the chance to put it right, so please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
We may update this policy when the site changes, for example if we add a sign-up form. The current version always appears on this page, with the date it last changed shown at the top.
